Well...im pretty sure that nobody reads my journal anymore....i dont know why i still have it. but for the people who will see something when i post it i thought it was appropriate to note that I will be playing Form of Hands in germany in April...
I think everyone I know does know now about this but for those who dont...
I am playing at form of hands in April!!!!!!1111
If anyone else is going there for the event then let me know as I could **really** use someone to travel with...I hate planes and travelling for hours and hours...Chris????
We have plenty of bull-shit days and events for pointless fucking charities that benefit no-one we will ever meet or see as well as pretentious cock-suckers pretending that they care about a charity or cause for minimum wage..
Now for something worthwhile...
Soon you will be more punished for smoking a cigarette than for smoking a joint (no bad thing i guess) but the whole thing is fucking stupid..
Thought a few of you artistically minded people on my friends list (that would be....all of you pretty much i reckon...) would be interested in seeing some photos from a shoot me and my lovely lady went on a few weeks in london with Sev Denis (www.sevdenis.com)
I would do a proper post telling you all about Infest etc etc but thats not interesting.....large cumbersome, non-cut photo posts are
Also quite a few people havent added my other journal, ill be deleting this one soonish - the username is thepcpprinciple (surprisingly enough) so go add it if you haven't done already!
Something to pass around to anyone and everyone who works with live music/events:
This is the same bill from a few years ago that is now not far from coming into force if there is a consensus about it - which there fucking should be....its a stupid law...that needs booting out
The Act seeks to make it more difficult and a lot more expensive for musicians (no matter what level) to play live events. Also band practices become live events if there are more than 4 ppl there.......literally as soon as your mum or whoever comes in to bring in cups of tea...you cvan be charged for not having a live music liscense...
While perusing Gamespot i found this: No idea it was in development and i havent seen it focused on in any games mags...
STALKER is enjoyable, but i think FEAR was the last FPS to grab me by the balls and shake me up some! This looks like a worthy stand-in while We wait for the rest of the FEAR series to be confirmed/released/developed:
Only a link as it flatly refuses to embed the fucking thing...
Im posting through this journal because i dont seem to actually be able to get in to my thepcpprinciple account fpor some reason...
Anyway....21st Birthday on Saturday (finally..)....All varying shades of awesome really..
Thursday i spent being totally unconscious due to "over-smoke" but my stoned feeling the next day was quickly remidied (sp?) by going to Derby to buy Some Reveal 5a Studio monitors (no more shitty hifi speakers for me!).
I was trying to be sensible testing them out (once the guy had to be shown how to work them by yours truely...).Started playing some Pendulum through them, lots and lots of Bass :D followed by Combichrist (not normally my thing, but a good thick production to it..), followed by the ultimate test...
The mixer went up to 127 at Max...so i asked the guy how well the Reveal 5A's handle lots of Distortion and he said..."first class....push it as much as you want"
Ok.....taking out my copy of Disturbance by Winterkalte i put the Cd in and set the mixer to 95 (out of 127 - baring in mind i could feel my eyeballs vibrating in their sockets at 55!).The result was hilarious...several customers moved out of the test area and the shop assistant moved away behind a door somewhere. Anyway i was impressed so they were my main present as such (just waiting for some XLR/3.5mm cable to arrive)
Got my K49 midi controller back...fixed thankfully.Invested in a 160 GB HDD today for those truely epic tracks. And also i bought one of these:
Guitar to PC interface via USB..no amps, no fuss.....well a little but that was just crappy ASIO drivers. So hopefully i can start to incorporate some of my guitar playing into future PCP Principle Tracks....although not the standard black metal riffs i seem to play all the time!
Generally speaking i got money but also had some prize treats from people too: Newest Katatonia album//Borat DVD//HMV Voucher//Infest Tickets//New Shirt
Didnt really do too much for it...but it was a wicked weekend...nice to spend some time with the lady and see my mates and all get caned together :D
And returning with the new account i made some time ago...Sorting the HTML, Markups etc out and hopefully i will use it for something useful..
In the meantime some music while you wait...
I first heard these guys about 4 years ago and listened to their tracks at full blast every morning during my first year and second year at Uni and they never disappoint.
They deserve to be doing lots more/be signed/have an album out in my opinion....they have a great sound, a lot different to most of the current crop...anyway ill shut up...Go have a listen.
Ill be using this as an opportunity to show off New Material...aka Classical Gabber avec Noisy Rhythms etc etc so you had all better get the fuck there and stay there!
In other news...much drama has ensued on myspace due to an "artist" known as groundzero(www.myspace.com/groundzeroebm) being a total tosser and general left wingy prick....anyway the whole thing is documented in a blog on mine and his respective myspace pages
Also...New material just posted up dans le myspace: Circles of Grief, there is also a little bulletin roughly explaining it...Hopefully you shall enjoy it enough to offer feedback etc....otherwise ill take it down :P
In other news...Im phasing my livejournal account out of use completeley....mostly i post cack like this up and it seems pointless now.
However this one will be replaced by a new one under the user name of thepcpprinciple and will be both personal and serve as a development log for the writing of new music/tracks - expect more musical waffle!
Well the last two or three weeks have been pretty bloody eventful..
Need some kind of a write up/reflection:
Science and Industry in Manchester was Ace-fun: got to meet lots of the Infektedsound crew and generally have a natter with everyone and get psyched up for Slimes the weekend after.
Slimelight was probably one of those things in life I will never forget, really really enjoyed myself there.. Met some ace people there too and made some progress towards getting a remix done by Mr Sulphuric Saliva himself!
Post Slimelight and resounding tiredness abound twas back to Uni and the hole of dispair that Lincoln so often is, to face stress, work and arguements resulting a pretty hellish end to last week, resolved only by (as cheesy as it might sound) love conquering all..
Over this weekend I have 1)decided who i would be happy spending my foreseeable future with 2)considered what that future might be, in great detail 3)watched a corridor stretch into infinity and squash into a flat image, as well as walked like a spaceman and talk utter bullshit until 930AM (from 4AM) 4)Heard the phrase "donkey wobble" for the first time in years 5)Completed an essay that was set 2 months ago in little over 24 hours after taking more drugs than are strictly neccesary for them to still be considered "recreational" 6)Written 2 Acid Techno/Psy tracks in 4 hours
After all of it, I only really have come to one conclusion (other than not to take Ket a day before you have to hand an essay in - fuckin dumbass...): Being in love is the best thing that you can experience - not to by any means belittle any of the other things that have happened over the last couple of weeks, but the thing i enjoyed the most was over the last few days, being in bed with ms_destruction and just talking..
Dont let anyone try and tell you that love is bollocks or a waste of time - there is nothing..NOTHING better for you out there than finding someone who makes life better in *every.way*. I could easily rant about this but it would serve no purpose .. Ive made my point.
Youtube does ocasionally throw up absolute gems of entertainment:
This is Merzbow performing Live in front of maybe 15 people in some tiny ruraly area of China, obviously not everyone isa Japanoise freak over there :|..
The peoples faces are what entertain me most, as well as the ocasional horrid drone from and improvised violin:
